PHYS375 Quantum Physics
An introduction to quantum theory. Topics include the historical development of quantum theory, models of atomic structure, wave properties of matter, the uncertainty principle, the Schrodinger equation, expectation values, potential wells, barriers & tunneling, the hydrogen atom, orbital angular momentum, intrinsic spin, multielectron atoms, and LS Coupling. (Prerequisites: PHYS202 or PHYS301; MATH215 or MATH305). Fall of even years.
