PHYS355 Galaxies & Cosmology
This course explores the universe at its largest scales. We begin with the structure and dynamics of our Galaxy, the Milky Way. We then survey external galaxies, active galaxies, and clusters of galaxies. Finally, we learn about the Big Bang, cosmological models, and the early universe. (Prerequisite: MATH 205 and PHYS 102 & 104 or PHYS 201 & 203 ). Spring of even years (alternates w/ PHYS350).
