Full-Time Course Registration for F-1 Student Visas
Full-Time Course Registration for F-1 Student Visas
F-1 post-secondary students must enroll in a full-time course load each semester in order to remain compliant with their visa regulations:
-
F-1 undergraduate students must take at least a full-time course load (12 credit hours) per standard term
-
F-1 graduate students must take a full-time course load as defined by Adrian College (9 credit hours) per standard term
-
F-1 students, regardless of grade level, may only count one online course towards a full-time course of study per term
If courses are not offered in-person for any program, F-1 students must not participate in that program. If the F-1 student is in an English language training course of study, online courses cannot count toward the full-time course load. If the F-1 student needs only one course to complete their program of study, the course cannot be taken online or through distance education.
Please refer to USCIS's Policy Manual for further information. F-1 students can direct specific questions to the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO).
