PHYS109 Introductory Astronomy

This course introduces students to fundamental elements of astronomy. Topics include the night sky, the Earth-Moon system, the Sun, properties of stars, star formation & evolution, galaxies, cosmological models, an overview of our solar system, and exoplanets. Three hours lecture and one 2-hour laboratory per week. (Prerequisite: MATH100 or beyond)
