MUS455 Musicianship IV

Understanding the structure and function of music with emphasis on extended harmonies (9th, 11th, and 13th chords), altered dominants, chromatic mediants, devices of the Romantic period, devices of Post-Romantic, Impressionistic, and 20th-century styles, including twelve-tone techniques. Activities will include sight-singing, ear training, rhythmic exercises, and compositional exercises. (Prerequisite: MUS350 Musicianship III)
