CS560 AI and ML in Cybersecurity

This course investigates how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) techniques are transforming modern cybersecurity. Students will explore the application of AI and ML to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats in real time. Emphasis is placed on designing intelligent systems for threat analysis, intrusion detection, anomaly detection, and malware classification. Topics include, but are not limited to overview of cyber threats and attack patterns, supervised and unsupervised learning for intrusion detection systems (IDS), anomaly detection using clustering and dimensionality reduction, malware classification using neural networks.
